Have you ever wondered how people cooked before the age of supermarkets, processed foods, microwaves, kitchen appliances, refrigerators and electric ovens and stove tops?
Wouldn’t it be fascinating to go back in time and see a kitchen without all the technological gadgets we take for granted today? To see why and how people prepared foods for good health? Keep Reading…

It’s mind boggling to me how confused everyone is these days on the issue of fats.
As a perfect example, I’ll never forget the nurse that took my my weight loss program a few years ago.
You see, right from the start I educate the class on why eating healthy fats boosts metabolism, reduces sugar cravings and promotes weight loss. She dropped out after three weeks because she told me that the mental conditioning that fats cause weight gain and disease was too great for her to overcome.
That is CRAZY! Especially because she already was overweight.
But this is a perfect example of how out of touch we’ve become as a society when it comes to eating fat. Keep Reading…

Did you know that store-bought soups and broths are full of neurotoxins, artificial flavors, trans fats and other nasty chemicals?
Have you ever looked at the ingredients on a can of Campbell’s or Progresso soup? If not, you’d be HORRIFIED.

Everyone who walks through my door in my nutritional therapy practice, walks out the door learning about broths. EVERYONE. Keep Reading…

I’ll never forget the young woman who took my weight loss class a few years ago.
Like most women who come to see me for weight loss, she was experiencing other hormonal imbalances tied into the excess weight. PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), cysts, fibroids and endometriosis are all common hormonal issues that are often connected to weight gain.
But probably the most common hormonal imbalance is PMS with symptoms such as acne, bloating and water retention, cramps, moodiness and irregular cycles.
At the end of the three-month class this young woman told me that for the first time in her adult life her periods had completely normalized. She said her PMS symptoms disappeared and that it’s almost strange to have her cycle occur every 28 days now. Since the program ended, she’s lost over 40 pounds and has kept it off. Keep Reading…

Man if I had a nickel for every time I heard statements like this:
“I understand real food. I really do. But I just don’t have THE TIME to make it happen.”
“I’m too overwhelmed and exhausted to cook.”
“Real food is too expensive.”
I’m ALWAYS trying to help my clients make better food choices in the context of our crazy every day lives. I give them tons of handouts, book suggestions, websites, articles and blogs that can help inspire them. I know it’s not always easy to cook and prepare things at home and that’s why I LOVE when I find great resources that can help them.
Well, I now have a brand new resource. Keep Reading…
